Bishop, Mankind IS his own worse enemy. We can only hope that (A) We are slowly evolving to a higher state at which we will reach a degree of near perfection, or (B) That Jesus as Savior will intervene and force us to behave appropriately. We have over and over proven throughout History that we cannot manage our own affairs. The dawning of America appeared to be mankind's best hope. Now that great undertaking appears to be crumbling, brought down by greed, lust and insane tin horn manipulators. Divine intervention is needed to save us from ourselves.
Unfortunately man is fallible so there were some politicians who abused the very principles of the Constitution from the beginning of this country's inception. However, I do believe, with the exception of slavery, that American society ran smoothly with people for the most part adhering to the Constitution to the best of their ability until the beginning of the 20th century. Yes, Divine intervention is indeed needed.

Indy, Divine intervention most certainly is needed, and I only pray it comes soon enough.
